  Low-Cost Clinics

At Belsize Health we consider ourselves to be a community health centre and as such we aim to give as many people access to complementary care as possible. Since complementary medicine is not routinely available on the NHS we have a selection of therapies available to those on low incomes who would not otherwise be able to afford any treatment

There are no strict criteria as we rely on people's honesty about their situation. As a guide it can apply to those who are entitled to any state benefits or tax credits, full-time students and those who have low wages.

Please click on a link on the left for more information about our practitioners available for low-cost treatments

Treatments are available from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday depending on the availability of the therapists. Please contact us to make an appointment or for any further information.

Shiatsu

NATALIE KOFFMAN MRSS / ITEC
MTI / LSSM

Shiatsu (which literally means finger pressure) is a traditional hands-on Japanese body work therapy that releases tension and stress from the body.  It is particularly effective for back, neck and shoulder aches and pain, sports injuries and the effects of stress on the body and mind. Other problems commonly treated using shiatsu include digestive complaints, headaches, asthma, low energy levels and general feelings of unease. Shiatsu treatments traditionally take place fully clothed lying on a futon on the floor and no oils are used. Shiatsu uses a range of techniques including both gentle and strong pressure applied to the body, some applied muscle stretching and techniques to free joint stiffness. Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing experience and help to prevent the build up of stress.

Natalie was one of the original founders of Belsize Health and also works as a health practitioner in an award winning crisis service within the NHS. She has been practicing Shiatsu  since 1998 and is also qualified in holistic and remedial / sports massaage.
