At Belsize Health we consider ourselves to be a community health centre and as such we aim to give as many people access to complementary care as possible. Since complementary medicine is not routinely available on the NHS we have a selection of therapies available to those on low incomes who would not otherwise be able to afford any treatment

There are no strict criteria as we rely on people's honesty about their situation. As a guide it can apply to those who are entitled to any state benefits or tax credits, full-time students and those who have low wages.

Please click on a link on the left for more information about our practitioners available for low-cost treatments

Treatments are available from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday depending on the availability of the therapists. Please contact us to make an appointment or for any further information.

Massage

YASMIN ILAM-DEEN
(BTEC, ITEC)
Holistic Swedish
Massage has been used throughout the world for thousands of years to improve and maintain health. Massage can be used to reduce muscle stiffness and pain, aid the repair of injured tissues, maintain the circulation of blood and lymph, improve skin nutrition, regulate metabolism, and to ease stress. Swedish massage uses long, flowing strokes. The five basic massage strokes associated with traditional Swedish massage are:effleurage (gliding strokes), petrissage (kneading and compression strokes), friction (deep circular rubbing) , tapotement (percussion tapping, pounding) and vibration (very fine, rapid shaking).

Yasmin qualified in Holistic Swedish Massage in London. She has also trained in Thai Yoga Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She offers a wide range of massage techniques tailoring each treatment to individual needs. She is a member of the Complimentary Therapists Association.
